Transparency is a core value of Jordan Spirit. This page explains exactly how we make money, who our partners are, and what that means for you as a reader.

In plain English: Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you click a link and make a booking, we may earn a small commission — at absolutely no extra cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you book via our link or go directly.

Our affiliate partner: GetYourGuide

Jordan Spirit participates in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme. GetYourGuide is a Berlin-based tour and activity booking platform operating globally.

  • Programme: GetYourGuide Partner Network
  • Commission range: approximately 5–15% per confirmed booking (varies by tour and promotional period)
  • Payment trigger: commission is earned only when a booking is confirmed and completed — cancellations within the refund window do not generate commission

GetYourGuide is our sole current monetisation partner. We do not participate in hotel affiliate programmes, airline affiliate programmes, or any other tour operator affiliate scheme at this time.

How affiliate links are identified

All affiliate links on Jordan Spirit:

  • Carry the HTML attributes rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and open in a new tab
  • Point to GetYourGuide activity pages (URL contains getyourguide.com) or pass through our affiliate tracking parameter
  • Are contextually placed — we link to tours we have verified exist, not invented URLs

We do not use pop-ups, interstitials or disguised redirects to obscure affiliate links.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations. We link to GetYourGuide tours because we have verified they are reputable options — not because they pay higher commissions.

We actively cover destinations and sites with no GetYourGuide presence (Mukawir, Umm al-Jimal, Wadi Faynan, Beidha standalone, desert castles) and recommend self-guided or DIY approaches where that is genuinely the better option.

Our editorial process is: verify the information first, then — if a relevant tour exists — add an affiliate link. Never the reverse.

FTC and EU disclosure compliance

This disclosure complies with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255), the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidelines, and the EU Omnibus Directive requirements on transparency.

A disclosure notice appears in the footer of every page of this website. Specific affiliate links in articles are marked as described above.

No other current monetisation

As of the date below, Jordan Spirit has no other active revenue streams:

  • No Google AdSense or display advertising (may be added post-launch — this page will be updated)
  • No sponsored posts or paid editorial placements
  • No hotel commission programmes (Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc.)
  • No paid link insertions
  • No newsletter sponsorships (newsletter not yet active)

If this changes, we will update this page promptly and add a disclosure to any new content type that involves commercial arrangements.
