About Jordan Spirit
Jordan Spirit is an independent editorial resource dedicated to helping travellers plan an honest, informed trip to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Who we are
Jordan Spirit is published by Agence Xen, a digital publishing studio based in Geneva, Switzerland. We build informational travel websites that prioritise accuracy and transparency over sales pressure. You can reach us at agencexen@gmail.com.
Our team combines on-the-ground travel research with editorial fact-checking to produce guides that are genuinely useful — not inflated with filler content designed to sell you a tour you didn't ask for.
Our editorial mission
Our tagline — "the honest Jordan planner" — reflects a deliberate editorial stance. Jordan is one of the most rewarding destinations in the Middle East, yet most travel content about it is dominated by tour operators who write guides to sell their own packages, or aggregator sites that recycle the same thin information without local verification.
Jordan Spirit exists to fill that gap with:
- Verified site information — entry prices, opening hours and visa rules checked against official sources (jordanpass.jo, visitjordan.com, RSCN).
- Realistic cost data — budgets in JOD, USD and EUR reflecting actual traveller spend, not marketing minimums.
- Practical itineraries — driving times from Google Maps, real logistics, not aspirational day-by-day plans that assume a teleporter.
- No tour-sales pitch — affiliate links to GetYourGuide are clearly labelled (see our affiliate disclosure); we never recommend a tour we wouldn't take ourselves.
- Coverage of under-served sites — Mukawir, Umm al-Jimal, Wadi Faynan, Iraq al-Amir — places that deserve attention but earn us no commission.
Site history
Jordan Spirit launched in 2026 as part of Agence Xen's network of regional travel planning sites. The site was built on Astro 6 (static site generator), hosted on Infomaniak servers in Switzerland, and written entirely in British English with six-language coverage (EN, FR, DE, ES, IT, PT).
Content is reviewed on a rolling basis. Each guide displays a Last reviewed date so you always know how current the information is. We aim to update major pages (visa rules, Jordan Pass prices, Petra entry fees) within 30 days of any official change.
Our values
Transparency about affiliate links
We participate in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme (partner ID: LDXYA0P).
When you book a tour through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.
Every affiliate link is marked with rel="sponsored" and visually distinguished.
Full details in our affiliate disclosure.
Fact-checking standards
Before publishing, every guide is cross-referenced against at least two authoritative sources: official tourism board data, academic references (Lonely Planet Jordan, RSCN publications), or verified traveller reports from the past 12 months. If we cannot verify a fact, we say so — or we leave it out.
Regular updates
Travel information goes stale fast. Jordan Pass prices changed three times between 2020 and 2026. Visa rules have fluctuated. We track changes and update the affected pages accordingly. Sign up to our newsletter (coming soon) to be notified of significant changes.
Reader privacy
We do not harvest your email unless you explicitly opt in. We use Google Analytics 4 in anonymised mode. We do not sell data. Full details in our privacy policy.
